SUMMARY
Product Safety Engineer for International Regulatory
Compliance Testing and Certification
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
- Reviews and evaluates technical Product Safety
requirements from customer and formulates compliance
test plan to meet international regulatory requirements,
including but not limited to UL (USA), LVD (Europe
Union), CCC (China), and International CB requirements,
etc.
- Understand, interpret and tailor international
Product Safety specifications and test methods, including
but not limited to EN 60950 and EN 60065.
- Perform Product Safety Compliance Testing according
to Safety test plan and SIEMIC compliance Testing
Procedures.
- Perform various Safety analyses when customer product
fails Safety standards and provide consultancy.
- Familiarity with International CB Scheme, attending
international CB conference representing SIEMIC as
CBTL – CB Test Laboratory, and maintain SIEMIC’s
CBTL status.
- Prepares Compliance Test reports and CB Report
in both English and Chinese.
- Generates and implements documentation, including
test plans and test procedures.
- Familiar with ISO 17025 (Laboratory Quality Assurance)
and Guide 65
- Other duties may be assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree (B. S.) in Electrical Engineering,
Physics or a related area from four-year college or
university; Minimum two years experience as Product
Safety Engineer, preferably with experience working
at CBTL (CB Test Lab).
LANGUAGE SKILLS (Both in English and Chinese)
Ability to read, analyze,
and interpret general business periodicals, professional
journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and
procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information
and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients,
customers, and the general public.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to solve practical
problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables
in situations where only limited standardization exists.
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished
in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties
of this job, the employee is frequently required to
stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel;
and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required
to reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, or crouch.
The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to
25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this
job include close vision, distance vision, color vision,
peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to
adjust focus.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
While performing the duties
of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to
outside weather conditions.
